Ruslan SALIS

Ruslan SALIS GmbH company represents the interests of ANTONOV ASTC and the Volga Dnepr (Russia) group of companies within the limits of their participation in the NATO SALIS (Strategic Airlift Interim Solution) programme.

In accordance with the contract, signed with NAMSA, (NATO Maintenance and Support Agency)in January, 2006, NATO uses An124-100 Ruslan aircraft of Antonov Airlines and Volga-Dnepr to perform strategic transportation in the interests of the 18 countries participating in the programme.

According to the contract, two An124-100 aircraft are constantly based in Leipzig airport. Another 4 aircraft are provided on request within a specified time period.

The contract was originally for a 3 year period.  However, discussions appear to have been opened in mid 2008 for a 2 year extension.
